The cooler air we’ve seen today (and will continue to see tomorrow) is just a brief taste of fall. For one more day, temperatures will be mainly in the 60s. If we fail to reach 70° on Monday, that will be the first time in over 3 months!
High pressure is keeping us cool, and it’s also keeping our weather very quiet for the next several days. It will settle over us Tuesday then slowly shift to our east come midweek. This air mass will modify and warm due to plenty of sunshine then clockwise winds on the backside of the high will warm us further. We could be back close to 80 by that time.
The next system we’re watching is a cold front that will approach the area late in the week. Right now it’s looking like a weak system, with only a few showers expected. The computer models are still working out some kinks in the timing of the frontal passage, but for now it looks like a few raindrops could present themselves next weekend.
