Onondaga County lawmakers approve resolution asking that the state repeal its SAFE Act
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- The Onondaga County Legislature on Tuesday voted 14-3 to approve a resolution asking the state to repeal the SAFE Act.
The vote comes one day after hundreds of people addressed lawmakers about their thoughts on the new law.
Many argue that it was rushed through and is unconstitutional.
Governor Cuomo says he’s open only to technical changes to fix mistakes in his landmark gun control legislation. He says he will not change the provision that requires no more than seven bullets in an ammunition magazine.
