Syracuse (WSYR-TV/AP) – Professional stargazers say more meteors will light up the skies after streaking fireballs were observed in California.
The bright lights will likely be obscured by cloudy skies in Central New York.
Wednesday's light streak comes as astronomers expect a more dramatic light display this weekend that is part of the large, fast Orionid meteor shower, so-named because it has the Orion constellation as a backdrop.
According to
CNN’s Light Years blog, the best time to watch the meteor shower will be an hour or two before the sun rises on Sunday morning when Orion is high in the sky.
For those who live in dense urban areas, the meteor shower will be visible
