Oswego County man injured in ATV accident

Scriba (WSYR-TV) – A helicopter was sent to Oswego County after an ATV accident on Monday morning.

According to the Oswego County Sheriff's Office, 72-year-old James Hammond was thrown from his ATV when it struck a knoll on his own property along County Route 29 in the town of Scriba.

Hammond was thrown approximately 100 feet and the ATV landed on his chest before rolling over.

According to Oswego County 911, one person was injured in the accident, which occurred on County Route 29 in the town of Scriba.

He was taken via ambulance to a waiting Mercy Flight helicopter and then flown to Upstate University Hospital.
