Oswego child stricken with West Nile virus
Oswego (WSYR-TV) – An Oswego child is recovering from West Nile virus on Friday.
The child is recovering at a home in Oswego.
The Oswego County Health Department was notified on Friday that the case had been confirmed by the state.
The virus is carried by mosquitoes and has been located in several pools in Central New York.
The virus causes no symptoms in most people, but it can cause serious health problems and, in rare instances, lead to death.
People who are older than 50 are the most at risk.
