Oswego woman who pleaded guilty in fatal DWI wreck to begin serving jail time on weekends
Rochester (WSYR-TV) – An Oswego woman who admitted she drank before getting behind the wheel during an accident that killed a Nazareth College classmate last year will begin spending her weekends in jail on Jan. 20.
Nicole Pitcher pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in July.
After she graduates from college in May, Pitcher will begin serving her prison sentence. A formal sentencing will be held May 16.
Pitcher was driving when six people were injured in the accident. Gabrielle Acevedo later died as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the other car, John Bernard suffered minor injuries. His passenger, Renee Broderick suffered serious injuries.
During her Jan. 11 appearance in court, Pitcher read a five-page apology to Acevedo’s family.
