Pa. man pleads guilty to killing teen on a bike in Oneida County
Utica (WSYR-TV) – A Pennsylvania man who was accused of driving drunk the night he struck and killed a boy who was riding his bicycle in Sylvan Beach has pleaded guilty.
Gary Svecz, 53, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide.
He had initially been indicted on charges including aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter.
Svecz’s truck hit Neil Pedersen’s bicycle while he was riding home from a friend’s house.
The Pennsylvania man left the scene, according to police, only to be caught by a volunteer fireman.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 20.
