POMPEY, NY (WSYR-TV) - A serious car crash in the town of Pompey on Friday has now turned deadly.
The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office reports that 67-year old Anthony Reisman of New York City has died.
He was in critical condition when he was taken to University Hospital by the Air 1 helicopter. He later died from his injuries.
Reisman was one of three passengers in a car being driven by 66-year old Charles Tremper of Syracuse.
Around 4:00 Friday afternoon, deputies say Tremper failed to yield the right of way and collided with a Dodge Dakota.
The driver of the pick-up truck 55-year-old Lawrence Pilcher of Jamesville and Tremper were not hurt.
Tremper's two other passengers, 65-year old David Easterbrook and 66-year old Richard Bough of Chicago, were also taken to the hospital.
Investigators say Tremper was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
One critical after crash in Pompey
Pompey (WSYR-TV) -- Four people were hospitalized following a serious crash in the town of Pompey just after 4 p.m. on Friday.
The accident happened at the intersection of Sweet Road and Pratts Falls Road, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say a black Toyota Prius, driven by 66-year-old Charles Tremper, of Syracuse, failed to yield the right of way at the intersection and collided with a Dodge Dakota.
Tremper was not hurt, but all three of his passengers were sent to the hospital. One of those passengers was critically injured and transported to the hospital by Air 1.
Two of Tremper’s passengers have been identified as 65-year-old David Easterbrook and 66-year-old Richard Bough, both of Chicago.
Authorities have not identified the passenger who was critically injured.
The driver of the Dodge Dakota, 55-year-old Lawrence Pilcher, of Jamesville, refused medical treatment at the scene. However, officials say Pilcher’s wife Kimberly was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
Tremper was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right of way.
