Pediatricians urge early flu vaccine shots
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The flu vaccine is beginning to become available and pediatricians are urging people to get one as soon as possible.
The American Academy of Pediatrics says there are some new vaccines on the market and while some of the newer ones might appear better, it's not worth waiting.
This year, some companies are making new vaccines that protect against four strains of influenza, instead of three.
The needle-free flumist version will be a four-strain vaccine.
Doctors’ offices will have a mixture of different vaccines because the companies that make the four-strain vaccines will not have enough this year to cover everyone.
