Baldwinsville (WSYR-TV) -- A petition to keep two lanes of traffic open during repairs on the Route 370 Bridge has grown to more than 800 signatures.
Work on the bridge over the Seneca River will reduce traffic to one lane, which will force drivers to take a nine mile detour around the construction.
"I think everything we do is going to be effected by that bridge, and I think there are going to be a lot of businesses that are going to be hurting, too, because people aren't going to want to be driving in this area,” said Baldwinsville resident Tom Sleck.
"I have no choice but to hope for the best, hope people come out in spite of the bridge closing down. A lot of my people are from Baldwinsville, that might make it easier, but the people that are from the Liverpool area, I'm probably going to lose a lot of them, due to the fact that they can't get here as easy,” said Mark Bragman with The Winds of Cold Springs Harbor Marina.
The Department of Transportation says the road work is expected to start in mid-May and could last through November.
