Seneca County (WSYR-TV) -- Deputies in Seneca County say they’re seeing an influx of scams and they’re asking residents to be vigilant.

Deputies say calls and emails describing a family member or friend needing help and asking for money and sweepstakes scams are circulating throughout the area.

Remember, you should never send or wire money to anyone who says you’ve won money in a sweepstakes.

If you’ve been targeted, call 911.
