Pittsburgh (WSYR-TV) - The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police says it will open an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by former Syracuse assistant coach Bernie Fine alleged to have occurred in that city.
Zach Tomaselli, the alleged victim, claims he was molested by Fine when Syracuse was on the road in 2002, playing a game in Pittsburgh. He has filed an affidavit with Syracuse Police.
A statement said the Bureau of Police learned Monday of media reports of the allegations.
Pittsburgh Police said they have been in contact with Syracuse Police to gather further information about the incident.
Once information is received, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police says it will begin an investigation, and coordinate with Syracuse Police.
