Playground smoking law aims to curb secondhand smoke to children
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A new law prohibits people from smoking on a playground in New York.
The law took effect yesterday and prevents smoking at playgrounds between sunrise and sunset.
Also, people can not smoke when children under the age of 12 are present on a playground.
The law aims to protect children from the dangers of toxic chemicals found in secondhand smoke.
