Palermo (WSYR-TV) – According to State Police a 31-year-old Liverpool man was caught having sex with a 14-year-old girl in Oswego County last week.
Police say a trooper pulled over when he saw a car parked at a rest area on State Route 3 in the town of Palermo with its lights off. It appeared that no one was in the vehicle. When the trooper approached, however, he discovered Timothy Ritschel of 4819 Bear Rd., Bldg. 8, Apt EG, Liverpool, and a 14-year-old girl both partially dressed.
The investigation revealed that the 31-year-old man had sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl.
Ritschel was charged with rape in the second degree, criminal sex act in the second degree, and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was arraigned in Town of Volney Court and taken to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond bail. He was scheduled to appear in Town of Palermo Court on Dec. 5.
