DeWitt (WSYR-TV) – DeWitt Police arrested a man Sunday, accusing him of punching a woman after an argument over photographs.

Police say 57-year-old John Norderhus and the woman got into a fight about 12:45 p.m.

According to police, Norderhus assaulted the woman and held a knife to her throat during the argument.

Police say the woman then escaped.  She was found running down the street in her underwear, bleeding from injuries to her head and face.

Police say when the woman told them what happened, they went to Norderhus’ home.

He allegedly had barricaded himself inside until negotiators were able to convince him to come out after a short period of time.

The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Norderhus is charged with First Degree Unlawful Imprisonment, Second Degree Menacing, Assault, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

He was arraigned in the Town of DeWitt Court and is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center on $20,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
