Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse man has been arrested after police say they found thousands of dollars worth of heroin in his home.
Syracuse Police say they received numerous calls of suspected drug dealings happening in the neighborhood of the 327 Richmond Avenue home.
Detectives detained several people after they say they observed what appeared to be drug deals taking place outside of the home.
Upon entering the home, police say they found more than $8,000 worth of heroin.
Police arrested 23-year-old Luis Carrasquillo, who lives at the residence.
Carrasquillo was charged with:
- Two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, both felonies
- Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all felonies
- Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, all misdemeanors
- Resisting arrest, a misdemeanor
Carrasquillo was taken to the Justice Center and arraigned in Syracuse City Criminal Court.
He is being held on $25,000 cash bail.
The others detained were released without being charged.
