Police catch suspect fleeing from Syracuse home burglary
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Police arrested a man after they say he was caught fleeing the scene of burglary.
Syracuse Police say they were called to the scene of a possible burglary in progress at a home on Teall Avenue.
Officers say a 50-year-old female victim told them that she heard someone inside her home so she ran outside because she feared for her safety.
Police began to check the outside of her home when they say they saw a man running away.
Officers say that after a short foot chase, 26-year-old Steven Files of 1371 Teall Ave. in Syracuse was arrested.
Files has been charged with the felony of Burglary in the Second Degree, and the misdemeanors of Resisting Arrest and Attempted Petit Larceny.
He was taken to the Justice Center and is scheduled to be arraigned in Syracuse City Criminal Court.
