Spafford (WSYR-TV) – After several hours, search crews in the town of Spafford have located a missing 2-year-old autistic boy. The child was found by a State Trooper around 3:45 p.m.

Police say Michael Gray is okay and is being returned to his home.

They say the child was found about a quarter mile from his home by a trooper driving slowly by with his window down. The trooper heard a child crying and found him lying next to a log.

The boy is the son of a State Trooper assigned to Long Island.
Police, emergency crews, and fire personnel searched for the boy in the densely wooded area near Skaneateles Lake and Bacon Hill Road starting shortly before 12:30 p.m.

Two helicopters were used in the search, as well as a boat and a bloodhound.
