SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police say the homeless woman found unconscious under a bridge on Saturday, has died.

She has been identified as 42-year old Michelle Noce.

Noce was found by a male friend under the Route 690 Bridge at Herald Place around 4:45 Saturday afternoon.

It is believed she was living under the bridge at the time.

Police say Noce was taken to University Hospital with several injuries. She remained in the intensive care unit, until she was pronounced dead just before midnight.

She died as a result of a head injury according to an autopsy performed by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office.

Investigators tell us they don't know at this time how Noce sustained the injuries. But they are investigating a report that she may have been involved in an altercation with a male earlier in the day on North Franklin Street and Herald Place.

The investigation is being treated as a suspicious death but has not been ruled a homicide.

The exit ramp from North West Street to Herald Place is open after police had shut it down to investigate the death.

Anyone with information is asked to call Syracuse Police at 442-5222.
