Police identify motorcyclist killed in Monday morning accident

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police have released the identity of a motorcyclist killed in an accident Monday morning on the onramp from Old Liverpool Road to I-81 southbound.

Police say 42-year-old Stephen Neider, of North Syracuse, died as a result of injuries he sustained when his 1985 Yamaha motorcycle struck a guiderail.

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident. No other vehicles were involved.

The accident occurred around 7:45 a.m.

The ramp was closed until around 11:15 a.m. when the scene was cleared.
