Police say there is no threat to public after Air-1 search, 911 call in DeWitt
East Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Police say that a man authorities were looking for in Syracuse’s eastern suburbs Monday night is not a threat to the public, but they are concerned for his own safety.
The search for the man began Monday evening when his friend called police regarding concerns that he might wish harm upon himself, according to East Syracuse Police.
Police are still trying to determine what led to claims that he might be armed, which prompted reverse 911 calls in the Franklin Park area in DeWitt and also the use of the Sheriff’s Department’s Air-1 helicopter.
Although East Syracuse Police are still trying to locate the man, they do not anticipate leveling any criminal charges. They added that DeWitt Police have not indicated that they expect to make any criminal charges.
