Police tentatively identify remains found in Tompkins County as those of a Syracuse man
Ulysses (WSYR-TV) - State Police have tentatively identified skeletal human remains found in Taughannock State Park on Wednesday.
Police believe the bones are those of Brian Austin, a Syracuse man who was reported missing in 2011.
Police say the remains were discovered in a wooded area at the park in the town of Ulysses.
They said the cause and manner of the man's death has yet to be determined.
State Police in Ithaca are working with the Binghamton University Anthropology Department and say the investigation is ongoing.
