Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police are ‘On the Lookout’ for a suspicious man claiming to be from the water department.

There were two incidents on Monday: one on Hier Avenue, on the city’s Northside, and again on Crysler Street on Tipperary Hill.

In both cases, the man said there was a water problem in the area and the homeowners needed to go into their bathroom and turn on the faucet.

In the first incident, the suspect was able to get into the home, but it doesn’t appear anything was taken.

In the second incident, the resident locked the door before going to check the faucet. He also asked for identification, but the suspect was unable to provide any.

If you see any suspicious activity or people near your home, call 911.
