Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The race for the 24th Congressional District is a statistical dead heat, according to a poll released Thursday morning.

Both Republican incumbent Ann Marie Buerkle and Democratic candidate Dan Maffei have 43 percent support, while Green Party nominee Ursula Rozum has 7 percent and 6 percent say they’re undecided, according to the Siena College poll.

The poll has a 3.9 percent margin of error.

Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg noted that while Syracuse voters support Buerkle nearly two to one, the candidates are tied in the remainder of Onondaga County. Outside of Onondaga County, Buerkle commands a 12-point advantage.

Among those polled, Gov. Andrew Cuomo had a 75 percent favorability rating, while President Barack Obama had a 57 percent favorability rating. 19 percent of those polled have an unfavorable view of Cuomo, while 41 percent had an unfavorable view of the President.
