Pond Street Tops to open on Tuesday

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A much anticipated grocery store will open on Syracuse’s North Side next week.

Tops Supermarket is set to open on Tuesday, Jan. 15, on Pond Street.

Tops bought the building in September shortly after Wegmans closed the historic location.

The employees at the Pond Street Wegmans were offered jobs at other stores in Central New York.

At the time of Tops’ acquisition of the building, city officials said the new store could generate 80 jobs for the area.
