Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The northside of Syracuse was hit with another round of power outages Saturday morning as National Grid deals with an aging infrastructure.
A company spokesperson said roughly 2,500 customers were left without power at 9:15 a.m. due to an equipment failure that caused a transformer fault on Helen Street.
Most customers, in the city's Lyncourt section, were back online within the hour.
Approximately 105 customers would have to wait until 11:00 a.m. National Grid expected to have the balance of customers, 20-30 homes, restored in the afternoon.
Saturday morning's outage is not related to problems the company had Friday night in the same vicinity, due to equipment failure at a substation distribution site at Court Street and Teall Avenue.
That issue affected nearly 11,000 customers for a couple of hours.
