Canastota (WSYR-TV) -- Power has been restored to most customers in Onondaga, Madison and Oneida counties.

A widespread power outage affected customers just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

National Grid says a wire had fallen on a high tension transmission line between Syracuse and Oneida, causing the outage.
