SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - The 13th Annual Success By Six Bookfest was held at Franklin Elementary School in Syracuse on Saturday.
This year, the theme was “Reading is Nutritious.” Kids were encouraged to read books that taught them how to live physically and emotionally better lives.
NewsChannel 9 helped to add a little excitement to the literacy campaign. On-air staff, like anchor Dan Cummings, interviewed kids about reading.
“It's such a fun event. I look forward to this event every year. Last year we had more than 500 kids so it really is something that families come back to every year and really look forward to and enjoy,” said Meghan Moran with Success By Six.
Success By Six is a branch of the United Way of Central New York.
