Prosecutor says NJ security guard sexually assaulted male teenager from Syracuse
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Authorities in Bergen County in New Jersey say a security guard sexually assaulted a Syracuse teenager he’d been assigned to protect.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the male victim was staying in a hotel with two other teenagers as part of a school trip when the incident occurred on Sept. 16.
25-year-old Jose Olivares was contracted with Calvary Protection Services to act as security for the students.
They say Olivares had "non-consensual" sexual contact with teenage boy.
The prosecutor’s office says the victim reported the incident right away.
They said Olivares fled, but he was found and taken into custody on Sept. 17.
He was charged with one count of sexual assault in the second degree and one count of endangering the welfare of a child in the third degree.
He was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail. Olivares also had to surrender his passport and was ordered to not have any contact with the victim.
