Protesters greet President Obama at Henninger High School
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The president faced his share of protesters and hecklers while giving his speech in Syracuse on Thursday.
Ursula Rozum, who ran in the last congressional race for the Green Party, was with the woman who interrupted the president during his speech to call attention to U.S. Army whistleblower Bradley Manning.
The interruption didn't stop President Obama from continuing. In fact, he said as far as hecklers go, “That young lady was very polite."
Some protesters and demonstrators gathered outside of Henninger High School to support their causes.
Activists in the New Yorkers Against Fracking group held signs urging the president to not drill in the Marcellus Shale.
The group says it rejects the president’s support of the gas industry and fracking as a false solution to climate change.
