Oswego County, New York (WSYR-TV) - The Oswego County Health Department and US Department of Agriculture will be executing a rabies vaccine drop in the northern part of Oswego County in the next week.
The rabies vaccine packets will be dropped in the areas north of the Salmon River in the Towns of Redfield, Orwell, Boylston, Sandy Creek, Richland, and Albion. The Oswego County Health Department says vaccine drops help decrease the amount of rabid activity in animals.
The packets are coated with a fishmeal attractant and packaged in one-inch square cubes or two-inch plastic sachets. They are not harmful to domestic animals (cats and dogs), but you’re asked to minimize contact with the packets.
The packets will be dropped sometime between Friday August 29th and Thursday September 3rd.
