(Syracuse-WSYR-TV). Warm air streaming in from the southwest today is expected to heat temperatures into the mid 90s. For Syracuse, the forecast high is 94°. The last time we saw temperatures climb this high during the New York State Fair was back in 1931. Additionally, we should surpass the record temperature of 92°, which was set in1995.
Low humidity and a steady breeze help to alleviate the feel of today's heat. Most of us should stay dry all day, with the only chance for showers up in the North Country this afternoon. Those showers are associated with a cold front, which is forecast to pass through central New York tonight. That front will drop temperatures back to seasonable levels in the low 80s for the weekend.
