Altmar, Oswego County (WSYR-TV) – The American Red Cross is assisting a family and their houseguests after a fire caused major damage to their home Thursday night. Oswego County 911 says they received the call about the fire just before 10:30 p.m. and that five fire departments responded. They add that a 63-year old male was taken to the hospital by ambulance for burns.

The Red Cross of Central New York’s Disaster Action Team says they responded to the home early Friday morning. They are providing assistance to the three adult residents who reside in the home at 582 C C Road. They are also providing assistance to three house guests.

The Disaster Action Team is a group of volunteers who provide assistance for food, clothing, and shelter to victims of disasters such as fires.
