Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The American Red Cross has announced that it will open additional distribution centers on Sunday, July 7. The distribution centers schedules is as followed:
The following three bulk distribution sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday:
- Herkimer County: Remington Arms at 14 Hoefler Ave., in Ilion; and Mohawk High School at 28 Grove St., in Mohawk.
- Oneida County: Town of Kirkland Municipal Building at 3699 State Route 12-B in Clinton.
The following two bulk distribution sites will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday:
- Madison County: Northeast corner of Lenox Avenue and Wilson Street in the city of Oneida.
- Herkimer County: Kmart (parking lot) at 200 S. Washington St. in the village of Herkimer.
The Red Cross will provide supplies such as bleach, gloves and trash bags at all the distribution centers.
In addition, Health Services volunteers will be available to provide first-aid and medical assessments and referrals, while Mental Health Services volunteers will assess and tend to emotional needs and provide information on coping skills needed during a disaster. Red Cross caseworkers will work with residents to establish long-term plans for recovery.
The Red Cross has also announced that its shelter at the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley at 701 Seneca St. in the city of Oneida will close at 8 a.m. Sunday.
