Ilion (WSYR-TV) -- Lawmakers in the town of Ilion say the Remington Arms factory plans to invest in upgrades to its facility.
After new, stricter gun laws were passed in New York State, there was some concern that the plant would leave the area and hundreds of jobs would be lost
. Now, it doesn’t appear the plant is going anywhere.
Instead, Remington Arms plans to invest $20 million in upgrades at the plant. They also plan to work with local colleges to develop a workforce training program.
