Albany (WSYR-TV) – A man suspected in a knife attack on a state trooper at the Empire State Plaza is in custody, according to Albany media outlets.
Both the
Albany Times Union and
ABC affiliate News 10 say the authorities have a man in custody who matches the description of 18-year-old Eric Green.
On Monday, police indicated that they wanted to question Green in regards to an incident in which State Trooper Rodney Smith was stabbed multiple times.
Police say Smith was stabbed in the neck with a steak knife when he tried to take Green’s ID.
Smith was taken to a local hospital.
The trooper was expected to recover.
