Syracuse (WSYR-TV/CNN) – A new United Nations report released on Friday states that it is “extremely” likely that humans are mostly to blame for temperatures that have been climbing now for decades.
The scientists behind the report say they are 95 percent certain of the phenomenon.
The activities they say contribute to climate change include driving cars, using coal and oil to fuel power plants, and eliminating forests.
The Assessment Report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the benchmark study on global warming published every few years.
Nearly 1,000 researchers from around the world contribute to the report.
Their research projects that cities such as Miami could be under water within the next few decades.
The new report strengthens suspicions scientists already had.
