Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- The Rescue Mission has been serving up holiday meals on Christmas day to individuals and families in need for the past 125 years.

This year, the organization says it will serve and deliver 2,000 meals on Christmas day.

A roast turkey dinner with all the fixings will be served at the Rescue Mission dining hall at 148 Gifford Street in downtown Syracuse from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Volunteers will also deliver meals to homebound Central New Yorkers.

Last year, volunteers delivered 1,525 meals. This year the count is already up to 1,700.

Requests to have meals delivered will be taken through 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

If you’d like to donate food for this year’s Christmas dinner or Rescue Mission meals in general, you may drop off donations Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 155 Gifford Street or call 315-701-3898.
