Oneida Lake (WSYR-TV) - Rescue crews were called out to Oneida Lake Saturday morning, after reports that a man was trapped on thin ice.

A hovercraft and the Onondaga County Air One helicopter were called in to help.

Oswego 911 tells us it was a fisherman who became trapped.

An eyewitness watching from the shoreline tells us as of 11:45 a.m., it appeared crews were leaving the scene, located several hundred yards off the shoreline near Taft Bay Park on State Route 49.

There's been no word yet on the condition of the person who was trapped.

Some of the ice near Route 81 overpass in Brewerton has melted, but much of the ice remains further out on Oneida Lake.
