Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A teenager from Rome was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a Tuesday-morning accident in Oneida County.

State Police say the accident occurred after 7:30 a.m. on State Route 365 in the town of Floyd.

They say 17-year-old Joseph Yagey lost control of a Ford Taurus and slid into the path of an oncoming box truck.

A passenger in the Taurus, 16-year-old Anusha Yagey, was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition.

Joseph Yagey’s injuries were not life threatening, according to State Police.
