Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Drivers who use Route 81 and Route 690 to get to Liverpool, Baldwinsville and Lysander may want to find a new way to get around for the next month; the Route 81 north ramp to Route 690 is closed until August.
The New York State Department of Transportation will shutdown the Route 81 northbound off ramp to Route 690 westbound on Wednesday, July 22nd; it is scheduled to be closed until Wednesday, August 26th, one day before the opening of the 2009 New York State Fair.
The ramp closure is part of the ongoing Route 81 pavement rehabilitation project and the Court and Spencer Street bridge replacement project.
The DOT posted detour will be to take Route 81 northbound to Exit 22 (Court Street), then head north on Sunset Ave, and make a left turn on Bear Street, and take that to Route 690 westbound.
