Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- An unattended SUV parked in a driveway at 1404 Madison Street rolled down a hill near the corner of Bassett Street late Monday afternoon.

Police are not sure what caused the 2003 Ford Expedition to roll down the embankment and toward the rooftops of houses in the 100 block of Maple Terrace.

Police say the SUV became caught on a fence and didn’t damage any homes below.

The houses threatened by the runaway SUV were evacuated as a precaution.

No tickets have been issued.
