Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Central New York SPCA says they “know who they are looking at” in the dragging death of a pitbull in December, but they still need more information before they can proceed with an arrest.

The agency held a press conference on Wednesday morning to update the public on any progress they had made in the case. In December 2011, a witness told Onondaga County 911 that a Chevrolet Silverado had been seen dragging the dog along I-81 near Park Street.

The SPCA is hoping more witnesses to the incident will come forward.

“Like I said, we have a lot of information. The problem is, we’re just at the point now where it’s just not enough to proceed at this point,” said Paul Morgan. “We need someone out there that can identify the vehicle or identify the person involved.”

The vehicle is a black Chevy truck. The dog was black and tan.

The SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward for information. Anyone with information on the incident should call (315) 454-3469.
