SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) A top SU Lacrosse prospect was charged with DWI after New York State Police say he was driving with a Blood Alcohol Content nearly double the legal limit.

On Friday morning, 18-year-old Jacob Bratek of Downing Street was pulled over on I-690 after a trooper noticed only one working headlight.  Troopers say they noticed Bratek was intoxicated and had a BAC of 0.13%.

Bratek signed a national letter of intent to play for the Orange in the spring. He helped lead J-D to Class B state lacrosse titles in 2007 and 2010. He scored 60 goals this past season, but missed the end of the season with a broken collarbone. Bratek was an Under Armor All-American in 2010 and a former NewsChannel9 Athlete of the Week.

Bratek was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

NewsChannel9 reached out to SU and has not received comment.
