SUNY ESF president stepping down
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – After more than a decade at the helm, SUNY ESF’s president is stepping down to focus on teaching at the school.
Cornelius Murphy announced his decision on Tuesday as a campus meeting.
Murphy said he will retain his position until the school has found a successor.
The ESF board of trustees has already begun its search, but they say it could take up to a year to find a new president.
Murphy was named president of ESF in 2000, after a 30-year career at O’Brien and Gere., an environmental engineering firm based in Syracuse.
