Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Plans are in motion once again for the annual Salvation Army Christmas Bureau Drive. The organization kicked off the event Thursday morning at Syracuse’s Delaware Academy and will continue to collect non-perishable foods, toys and money until distribution day, which is set for December 21.
“These young people put the first 40 plus cans in our bureau. On Saturday we’ll be at Dome day…we’ll be collecting food and money there for our Christmas Bureau…It’s the beginning of our holiday season,” said Linda Wright with the Syracuse-area Salvation Army.
You’ll also see red kettles in stores and malls across Central New York, so any spare change you can give will help make the holiday a special one for more than 3,000 families.
