Oswego (WSYR-TV) – A Sandy Creek man was arrested on Tuesday morning after physically restraining a victim while driving and then crashing the vehicle.
According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, during a domestic incident that occurred last week, George Graham, 26, of 22 White Birches Lane, Sandy Creek, threw a victim to the ground and then covered the person’s mouth with an article of clothing.
They say he then forced the victim into a 1999 Jeep Cherokee and restrained the person’s hands to keep the person from getting out of the vehicle as he drove off.
He lost control of the vehicle – which belonged to the victim – and it went off the road near State Route 3.
Graham was charged with strangulation in the second degree, a felony; unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, a misdemeanor; unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor; operator leaving the scene of a property damage accident; and imprudent speed.
He was arraigned in Town of Sandy Creek Court and released on his own recognizance. He is set to return to court at a later date.
