Scattered thunderstorms shift east of Syracuse after midnight.
(WSYR-TV, Syracuse) A cold front moving into central New York will collide with warm and humid air and cause showers and thunderstorms through early Saturday morning. Although the threat for severe weather has diminished there will be some heavy rain in some of the showers and storms.
The cold front will move to the south of central New York later tonight and slightly cooler and drier air will move in for Saturday. This looks to be the best day of the three day holiday weekend as we run the risk of some showers and thunderstorms both Sunday and Memorial Day.
