Syracuse (CNN) - The unlikely star of last week's presidential debate is now starring in an ad from President Obama's campaign, and Sesame Street isn't happy with it. The spot
was released on Tuesday.
It sarcastically casts Big Bird as a corporate fiend along the lines of Bernie Madoff and Kenneth Lay.
The campaign says it will air on national broadcast and cable.
Sesame Workshop wants the ad removed, saying in a statement today that is has not approved any campaign ads.
An Obama campaign official said they had received the statement and were reviewing their concerns.
At last week's debate, Mitt Romney said he would cut the federal subsidy to Sesame Street's network PBS, in order to help reduce the country's deficit.
