Sex offender in Oswego County facing drug charges

Oswego (WSYR-TV) – A registered sex offender with a history of problems with the authorities is facing drug charges in Oswego County.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office has charged 60-year-old Kenneth Shepard, of 51 Lilly Marsh Rd., Mexico with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Sheriff’s Investigators say Shepard was in possession of Fentanyl, a prescription drug.

He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Investigators say they found a small amount of marijuana in Shepard’s bedroom.

He was arraigned in Town of Volney Court and released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 10.

In 2011, Shepard was charged with two felonies after he set up a Facebook account without notifying the authorities.
